LGBT+ HISTORY MONTH 2021

LGBT+ History Month is a time for us to reflect on our history as a community, and to celebrate the progress we’ve made. The theme of the month this year is body, mind and spirit. Find out more, and check out events happening across the country at lgbtplushistorymonth.co.uk.

Also, be sure to check out this amazing Voices and Visibility wallchart, that layouts important legal milestones and identifies visible and significant contributions made by individuals, groups and particularly the labour movement.

WERE YOU PART OF AN LGBT+ HOUSING COMMUNITY? WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORIES.

We’re gathering as much information as we can that shows the history of LGBT+ housing in the UK. We’ve known for decades LGBT+ people have created their own housing communities, but unfortunately, a lot of it isn’t documented. We want to change that, and make sure your stories are told and histories are saved to help inspire new and upcoming housing projects!

Have you lived or live in LGBT+ housing scheme or were you part of an LGBT+ housing project?

If so, get in touch! Your input will help shape and grow this into a much bigger, amazing project!

HEAR US ON THE LOGBOOKS PODCAST

If you hadn’t heard already, we were on The Logbooks podcast late last year, discussing the work we’re doing. The podcast delves into LGBT+ Switchboard’s call logbooks, and tells the untold stories of Britain’s LGBTQIA+ past.

We feature at the end of episode 1 of season 2, ‘Please Be Gentle’. Note the episode focuses on the start of the HIV/AIDs epidemic.
