Comic Relief

We were absolutely thrilled when one of our long term funders, Comic Relief, decided to spotlight Tonic Housing across the BBC in the run up to Red Nose Day 2023.

Comic Relief has been one of a consortium of funders for Tonic Housing since 2015. Their original grant made it possible for us to employ our first CEO, enabling us to lead Tonic on its journey from inception to establishing Tonic@BankHouse, the UK’s first LGBT+ affirming retirement community.

Their support has continued over 8 years allowing us to further expand our talented team and in 2023, awarded us a further £15,000 cost of living grant.

Their support has been invaluable.

Presented by the wonderful Johannes Radebe, we spent the day with the lovely crew at BBC Morning Live, capturing some truly authentic and heartwarming interviews that give a real insight into why Tonic Housing exists and what it feels like to live here.

There was laughter, there were tears and we are so, so proud of our residents and the community THEY are creating.

We want to thank Comic Relief for understanding the issues that we raised all those years ago, and for trusting us to create and deliver what is truly a unique and very special community asset.
